Create an Intentional Good (!) Day (Permission Granted Today Book 23)

When you start off with a hopeful outlook, it sends out a vibration around you. You will often find that your day flows more smoothly because you make choices to enable that to occur. Practice this: Instead of dreading life's minuses, simply enjoy its pluses. When you focus on making today good, you are bound to have a tomorrow that has the potential of being good as well.

A speaker I heard one time suggested that when you wake up you tell yourself “Something new and wonderful will come into my experience today.” So what if it doesn't – you set your mind up to expect that it could happen. Who knows – it just might and wouldn't that be a delight ?! It causes your mind to be alert and hopefully more aware of opportunities that you might otherwise have ignored or been blind to.

This short, easy-to-read book offers a variety of suggestions to encourage you to make each day more fulfilling and pleasant for yourself and others. Most are easy and no-cost. Below are samples.

Acquire and display a collection of items that appeal to you; surround yourself with them. Your environment will then bring more moments of happiness to you.
Think back to what you liked to do when you were younger and then do it.
Just before you go to sleep, state you're going to be cheerful and good-natured tomorrow.
Practice the 4-D Habit: Do it, Dump it, Delegate it, or Defer it (with a deadline).

Create Happy I-Spy Coupons. You can make up statements and print them out beforehand or just have blank cards to quickly write something down and hand to a person who has either made you happy or you saw make someone else happy. Perhaps you want to start a Happiness Jar filled with positive statements or good memories to share with others.

Speak with words accenting positive and empowering thoughts and deeds. Do it for your sake and the sake of others. Happy talk changes lives. Put good thoughts out and be surprised at the rewards that often come your way. People recognize positive energy and want to be a part of that; you can be the generator.

Find adventure in everything you do and everywhere you go when you choose to look at life with an attitude of discovery and a welcoming view that everything has something special to offer. What do you do to learn something new, interesting, or useful? Help someone else enlarge their thought processes and you will be rewarded with new insights.

Relax and reflect. While you may not be able to arrange for 15-30 minutes of quiet time just for you, remember that you can mentally escape almost any time of the day. Retain a collection of pleasant images to call up on a moments notice.

You may plan for the future so the upcoming present moments will be good for you, but you can only effectively live right now. It begins with attitudes and actions taken today. Your creative wisdom is able to conjure up many scenarios to act as a guidance system to allow the creation of additional happiness to fill the 24 hours in every day. Each day can present new impulses, new inspiration, and new chances to be creative. Seek out happiness everyday rather than waiting for conditions to be just right on some far-off tomorrow.

People who express happiness are protected more effectively from the feeling of sluggishness, negative or scarcity thinking, and sometimes physical ailments. Joyful people seem to be having much fun and are full of vim and vigor. They want nothing to do with dismal, dreary conditions. To top it off, joy is catching and contagious. People are naturally attracted to those who were smiling, laughing, or having a good time.
